Description
An innovation trial was carried out between October 2012 and April 2013 at a waste water site in Hereford of the new innovative BIO‐BLOK® filter bed media. The main aim of the trial was to investigate if the BIO-BLOK® media can treat the incoming waste water to an appropriate standard to meet the consent limits of the site and if it is an effective alternative plastic media that can help reducing Capex and Opex for Dwr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW). The site consists of two square primary tanks, two plastic filter beds, one storm mineral media filter bed and one humus tank. The P.E. for the site is approx. 250.
